You can donate books or other Library materials on Monday through Friday from 10:00am -12:00pm at their store at St. Mary's By the Sea (146 12th St. - the corner of Central & 13th Streets.) Recent, popular titles are especially appreciated. Donated materials need to be suitable for the collection or resale (very dirty, discolored, mildewed, damaged or detached covers, old text books, old computer books, etc. are not suitable for resale). Please don’t donate materials that you wouldn’t consider buying yourself. In addition to accepting donations, you can purchase books from the Friend's store those same times.
Beginning in 2008, a small group of library volunteers began what is now called the First Saturday Book Sale. This event, with rare exception, is held the first Saturday of each month from 10 AM until 4 PM. For more information or to get involved, visit
First Saturday Book Sale.
The Library welcomes volunteers to help maintain collections and provide programs and services. Volunteers meet and greet customers, work the cash table, keep books organized and make sure all is running smoothly. Fill out the
volunteer application form for more information. Thank you for considering donating your time and talent to the Library!
