You can donate books or other materials Monday through Friday from 10:00am-12:00pm at their bookstore at St. Mary's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church (146 12th St. on the corner of Central & 13th Streets). Recent, popular titles are especially appreciated.
Donated materials need to be suitable for the collection or resale (very dirty, discolored, mildewed, damaged or detached covers, old textbooks, old computer books, etc. are not suitable for resale). Please don’t donate materials that you wouldn’t consider buying yourself. In addition to accepting donations, you can purchase books from the store those same times.
The Pacific Grove Public Library Friends and Foundation holds the “First Saturday Book Sale” on the first Saturday of the month from 10am until 4pm. Operated by an amazing team of volunteers, all proceeds benefit the library community of readers and learners.
If you’re a member of the PGPLF&F, you get a nice discount. And, yes, you can become a member at the store.
Donations are limited to one bag per person.Beginning in 2008, a small group of library volunteers began what is now called the First Saturday Book Sale. This event, with rare exception, is held the first Saturday of each month from 10am until 4pm. For more information or to get involved, visit
First Saturday Book Sale.
Additional volunteers are always appreciated to help with setting up and running the First Saturday Book Sale. Volunteers meet and greet customers, work the cash table, keep books organized, and make sure all is running smoothly. If you would like to help support the library in this way, please contact Judy Wills at j_twills@comcast.net
The Library welcomes volunteers to help maintain collections and provide programs and services. If you are of high school age or above and interested in volunteering for the Library, please fill out and submit the
volunteer interest form for more information.
Thank you for considering donating your time and talent to the Library!
