September's Meet the Author event is featuring Bradley Jay Owens, author of How I Met You. Bradley Owens has been a Foreign Service Officer in Haiti, a jounalist in Boston, a roofer in Las Vegas, and a creative writing instructor at Stanford University. In How I Met You, Owens weaves fragments from these life experiences into his stories. The question he gets asked most often is: How much of this is true? Reading from his work, Owens will talk about how stories originate, how they can develop in ways the writer doesn't necessarily anticipate, the delicate dance of writing about family and the frustrations and rewards of following a story where it wants to take you -- even if that isn't where you meant to go.
Suggested donation of $10 for non-members. Refreshments included. Sponsored by Friends of the PG Library with the support of Jan Pratt and J.R. Rouse, Sotheby's International Realty. Books available for purchase following the event.
